All you need to know about the 2020 Honda Activa 6G
The launch of the 2020 Honda Activa 6G was not merely restricted to the addition of new features and cosmetic changes. It saw an all-new, more refined engine complying with Bharat Stage VI (BS6) emission norms. The nation’s highest-selling two-wheeler – Honda Activa – has been ruling the segment for over a decade now.
One of the reasons for its popularity is its regular update year after year by the Japanese automaker. Moreover, the easy availability of a bike loan in India has made buying the Activa simpler and accessible to the common man.
Let’s get down to knowing everything about the latest sixth-generation Honda Activa:
To comply with the stricter BS6 emission norms, the scooter gets a new fuel-injected engine, which helps the Activa deliver 10% more fuel efficiency than its predecessor. It gets a new silent-start ACG starter motor to keep engine noise levels in check. Other smaller tweaks in its powertrain reduce engine friction to a very low level.
Meanwhile, the Activa 6G sheds some weight that helps to deliver more mileage and better performance. While the engine is now more refined and smoother, the power figures have taken a slight hit. It produces a max power of 7.68bhp at 8000rpm and max torque of 8.79Nm at 5250rpm.
The Honda Activa 6G has grown in proportions. It gets a longer seat and enhanced floor space thanks to the extended wheelbase. The smaller 10-inch wheels of the 5G are replaced by 12-inch ones in the latest variant. The suspension setup has also been updated with telescopic front suspension and rear adjustable suspension with 3-step options. The intelligently programmed fuel injection gets five sensors, which helps in smooth power delivery.
Features and styling
The Honda Activa 6G does not feature radical changes. It gets an analogue speedometer, and fuel gauge in the instrument console, multi-function ignition key with remote seat hatch and external fuel filler and engine start-stop are some of the new additions in the 6G. The only difference between the two available variants is an LED headlight.
The addition of new features makes the new Activa 6G more convenient and a practical option to go for in the gearless scooter segment.
The new Honda Activa 6G is available in six shades including Pearl Spartan Red, Glitter Blue Metallic, Dazzle Yellow Metallic, Black, Matte Axis Grey Metallic and Pearl Precious White.
The Honda Activa 6G is offered in two variants – Standard and Deluxe – which are priced at Rs 65,419 and 66,919 (ex-showroom Delhi), respectively. You can easily get a two-wheeler loan to purchase the Activa. Moreover, you can select various plans with different bike EMI options based on loan tenure.
